Service Accountability Agreements 

The Hospital Services Accountability Agreement (HSAA) & Multi-Sector Services Accountability Agreement (MSAA) between PSFDH and the Ontario Health provides financial and performance metrics for the upcoming fiscal year.

Broader Public Sector Accountability Act
The Broader Public Sector Accountability Act, 2010 (BPSAA)establishes clear standards for transparency and accountability across Ontario’s broader public sector, including hospitals. Under this legislation, hospitals are required to comply with a series of directives that promote responsible stewardship of public funds.  Each fiscal year, hospitals must:
  • Submit compliance attestations confirming adherence to applicable BPSAA directives, including those related to procurement, expenses and executive compensation 
  • Publicly disclose expense information for designated individuals such as senior executives and board members, in accordance with the BPSAA’s expense directive 
  • Ensure procurement practices are open, fair, and transparent, following BPS Procurement Directive and relevant trade agreements
  • Publish business and financial documents online

Supply Chains Act

As part of our dedication to ethical practices and human rights, we comply with Canada’s Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act. This legislation requires hospitals and other institutions that produce, purchase, or distribute goods to report annually on efforts to prevent forced and child labour in their supply chains.
