Dialysis

The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital provides dialysis services to area residents in partnership with Kingston Health Sciences Centre.  At present, the program runs six days per week and attends to 40 patients with treatment times being three to five hours on those days. This service allows patients with renal disease to get their treatments closer to home.

The redevelopment of the Smiths Falls Site of the hospital included a new home for the Dialysis program. This unit is considered a “showcase piece” providing treatment in a de-institutionalized setting. Its new location provides easy access for patients as it is in close proximity to the new main entrance off Elmsley Street at the Smiths Falls Site.
