RE: Hospital Leadership Update
Smiths Falls, ON – On Friday, January 25, 2019, the Board of Directors of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital announced that the President & CEO would not be returning to that role at the hospital due to ongoing, serious health issues.
In a notice to all staff, Donna Howard, Chair, Board of Directors, said, “I regretfully advise you that Bev McFarlane has made a decision to step aside from her role as President and CEO of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital.”
McFarlane, in her letter, thanked the staff for their ongoing commitment and support, saying: “…I have been blessed by the support I have received from the organization… We have been on a journey over the past number of years that has truly incorporated a patient/family centred approach to care and service…”
Howard praised McFarlane for her work, adding, “Bev promoted and embedded PSFDH in a culture that promoted compassion and quality for patients and families.”
A search for the new President & CEO will begin in the coming weeks.
