Media Release – Accreditation 2017 Kick-Off Celebration
For Immediate Release: Wednesday, September 20, 2017
Smiths Falls: The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital will be welcoming three surveyors from Accreditation Canada the week of October 16-19, 2017. The survey is a voluntary peer review process coordinated through Accreditation Canada. It is an external third party assessment of the quality of care and services provided, measured against best practices.
All areas of the organization will be assessed: from emergency preparedness, infection control to a patient’s clinical experience.
In recognition of the hard work and preparation over the last twelve months, staff, physicians and volunteers are being treated a “Countdown to Accreditation” barbecue at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital.
Staff, physicians and volunteers were able to take advantage of the amazing sunny day and enjoyed a delicious barbecue lunch. In addition to the luncheon and social time, everyone was given the opportunity to test their accreditation knowledge with quick trivia questions.
“The survey provides an opportunity to showcase achievements and demonstrate the wonderful programs in place,” said Bev McFarlane, President & CEO.
